Being Angelina Jolie

Today we got a taste of what it must be like to be a celebrity. You see, foreigners are a novelty in China and the Chinese people seem to be fascinated by us, so much so that they openly stare, and if they have cameras, they want to take our  pictures. It's a little like being followed by the paparazzi. This morning we were on the observation deck of the Oriental Pearl TV tower (more on that later - it was amazing!!!!)  and suddenly we were swarmed by Chinese people.  As in mobbed.  Suddenly we had achieved rock star status and the Chinese people were our groupies.  Everyone wanted to take our pictures and have their pictures taken with us.  We couldn't even move.  We were just cracking up.  And the people were so lovely and so fun and we all just jumped right in and got into the spirit of the thing, photobombing each others' pictures and taking pictures ourselves.  We had a great time with our 15 minutes of fame and made a lot of new friends.  Our faces will be gracing Chinese photo albums for years to come!
